Café & Loos
  • The main café in the courtyard (table service) opens at 9.30am. Last hot food orders 3.00pm
  • The takeaway van in the courtyard opens at 10.00am.
  • into the woods (the outdoor café close to the lost castle) is open at weekends during school holidays from 11.00am.
  • There are loos in the courtyard and by the lost castle.
Do you allow dogs into the gardens?

Yes, we do, but please ask you kindly to keep your dog on a lead. Please no dogs on our lost castle (children's play area). 

Disabled Access

Visitors of all abilities are welcome at Lowther. Some terrain however is not suitable for wheelchairs. Do ask at Admissions if you would like advice. If you would like to drop less mobile passengers off close to the castle, please call 01931 712192 and we will come out to assist. Please note that we give free entry to carers.

Can I picnic in the gardens?

Yes, using any of the lawned areas. Please leave tables and chairs free to be used by visitors who are choosing to dine with us from our cafés or takeaway. 

Parking

Parking at Lowther Castle is currently free. At Low Sawmill, there is small charge.  This charge does not apply to (adult) annual passholders who can park there for free.
