Join us for the exciting launch of 'Lights of Lowther', an immersive Winter Light Trail that will take you on a journey through the ruin and the gardens. See Lowther in a completely new light and create magical memories with your family and friends.
Accessibility
This trail is designed to be accessible for all. Ramps will be available where there are steps so there is a step free route for people in wheelchairs & parents with prams and pushchairs. However, due to the low-level lighting we recommend using a baby carrier as a preferred option where possible.
How long will the trail last?
The trail is designed to last approximately 1 hour to complete.
How do the time slots work?
Time slots start at 4pm and the last entry is 7.30 - 8pm. Each time slot is half an hour so if you book for 4pm, please ensure you’re at the entrance by 4.30pm at the latest.
What are the Food & Drink options?
There will be several food and drink offerings available throughout the trail offering a range of warming dishes, as well as mulled wine, hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows. The main café will be open, along with the Sculpture Gallery Café and there will be pop-ups in the Western range and Rose Garden Summerhouse. The marshmallow toasting will be at the top of the lawns towards the end of the trail. For ease you can add these vouchers to your ticket when you book.
Do we have to pay for parking?
No, parking is free for this event.
Can we bring dogs?
Yes dogs are allowed at this event but must be kept on a lead. Flashing collars/leads are most welcome too!
Do we need a ticket for a toddler?
Children under 3 are free so please select the ‘Under 3’s’ ticket. 3 and over require a child’s ticket.
What ages are included under a child’s ticket?
Age 3 – 15. Age 16+ will require an adults ticket.
Is this trail all outdoors?
Yes, this is a fully outdoor event so please wrap up warm and come in suitable footwear. We have done our best to stick to the flattest route possible but there may be uneven ground in parts so please keep this in mind.
What if the weather is too bad to attend on the day we have booked?
In the event of a storm or heavy snow, the event may have to be cancelled. You will either be offered an alternative date to move to or if you can’t attend any other available dates, a full refund will be given.
